From 18 November 2025, all company directors and people with significant control (PSCs) must verify their identity with Companies House. This new legal requirement is being introduced to improve transparency and reduce fraud under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023.
What You Need to Do
You can verify your identity online via GOV.UK using one of the following:
• Biometric passport
• UK photo driving licence
• UK Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) or Card (BRC)
• UK Frontier Worker Permit
You’ll receive a Companies House Personal Code once verified. This will be needed for future filings, such as your confirmation statement.

We are delighted to notify clients that Chart Accountancy is now an Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP), also known as a Companies House authorised agent.
We recommend that each director completes their verification online, however if you experience any difficulties, we can assist by completing the verification on your behalf for a fixed fee.
